PORTLAND, Ore. (Wireless Flash) – Star Trek fans are called “Trekkies,” but did you know Star Wars fans are called “Star Woids?” That’s according to a film producer who recently released Starwoids, a DVD documentary about the weird, wild world of Star Wars fans. Just how weird are they? Pretty weird, says Portland, Oregon, film producer Jonah Loeb, whose film revolves around the misadventures of a high school student who graduates early so he can camp out for months waiting for the premiere of 1999’s Phantom Menace. Other zany fans include a girl who paints her car to look like Luke Skywalker’s X-Wing Fighter; a troupe of high schoolers that performs Star Wars the Musical; and a DJ who dresses up like Boba Fett and spins Star Wars samples into his techno songs.
