Company Searching for America’s Funniest License Plate

CARLSBAD, Calif. (Wireless Flash) – This year marks the 65th anniversary of the first vanity license plate, and The Tonight Show writers are lending a hand to celebrate the milestone. The first plate was printed in 1937 in Connecticut, and car polish manufacturer Eagle One has enlisted the comedy writers from The Tonight Show to judge a search for the most humorous plate in America. One winner from each state will win a chance to compete for the grand prize – $5,000. The only requirement is that the license plate must be funny – so it’s a sure thing for folks whose license plates read “PCA SHT” or “IB2BAD.” The contest launches on eagleone.com on May 1.
