Winger Drummer: ‘The Time is Right For Winger!’

LONG ISLAND, N.Y. (Wireless Flash) – Winger called it quits in the early 1990s, but now they’re saying the time is right for a comeback. Drummer Rod Morgenstein says after Nirvana came along, nobody wanted hair metal, so the band broke up. But they parted ways as friends, which made it much easier to get back together again. Winger starts up its first tour in years on May 16, but in the mean time, Morgenstein says he’s practicing for the tour by playing with his new band, Jelly Jam, which just released a self-titled CD. Morgenstein says he’s excited about seeing all the old fans, but doesn’t have any dreams of getting back on MTV. He says Winger and MTV have no use for each other anymore.
