‘Travelers Breath’ a Stinky Problem

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (Wireless Flash) – Travelers need to brush up on their oral hygiene while on vacation because many are suffering from something called “travelers breath.” According to the Academy of General Dentistry, travelers can have breath that smells worse than the inside of an airplane lavatory because they tend to slack off on brushing while on the road. This leads to elevated bacteria levels in the mouth – and that causes bad breath, says spokesman Dr. Charles Perle. Even worse, travelers on the go may scarf down spicy foods that contain garlic or onions, and those odors can last up to 72 hours. Dr. Perle says unless folks brush and floss while on the go, they’ll be walking around with stinky breath and not even know it.
