WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (Wireless Flash) – Babi and Kuukie Rifkin are real jet-setters – even though neither one can pay for plane tickets, talk or even walk on two legs. You see, Babi and Kuukie are kitty cats and they’ve just become the first pets to ever redeem frequent flyer miles on a commercial airline. The two cats have taken three trips from New York to Israel in the past year, earning them one free flight from EL AL airline’s new pet frequent flyer program. Babi and Kuukie’s owner, Elayne, says the kitties average four trips a year and love visiting Israel because they were both born there. The cats recently completed their free voyage to Israel – saving their owners almost $400 in plane fares.
