Mary Hart Takes Cycle Of Fame To Heart

Mary Hart Takes Cycle Of Fame To Heart

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) – This June, Entertainment Tonight celebrates its 20th anniversary – which is especially heartening with anchor Mary Hart, who has been with the show since its inception. The 50-year-old Hart is proud of E.T., especially because it created a new genre of entertainment news shows, and feels the show is still the best of its kind. Amazingly, Hart had mixed feelings about E.T. for the first eight years or so, fearing it would typecast her forever. However, her attitude changed in the early 1990s when she realized stars who were on top in 1982 like John Travolta and Cher were now has-beens. Since then, she’s been grateful for her success and says doing E.T. is more entertaining than ever because pop culture always has something new. Hart has another reason to be grateful: She’s receiving a lifetime achievement award tonight (Apr. 16) from her peers in the American Women in Radio and Television association.
