EAST DORSET, Vt. (Wireless Flash) – Have you heard the one about the Rabbi and the Arab who walk into a comedy club together? Well, that’s the hook of two comedians putting on a performance to raise cultural awareness this Saturday (Apr. 13) in Philadelphia. Rabbi Bob Alper and Arab-American Ahmed Ahmed created the show to give Americans what they call a “multicultural wake-up call.” Despite what you might think, neither of the pair’s act focuses on current political events or ethnic jokes. According to Rabbi Alper, the fact that the unlikely pair are uniting is a strong enough message. If Saturday’s show is a success, the two hope to tour the rest of the country.
