Dan Castellaneta: ‘There’s Little Resemblance Between Me and Homer’
LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash) – Dan Castellaneta, the voice behind Homer Simpson, has something to say: I am not Homer. In fact, I am Not Homer is also the title of his new CD featuring him and his wife, Deb Lacusta, doing comedy routines the two wrote and previously performed together on stage. Castellaneta says he created Homer’s voice and he brings aspects of himself into the part, but other than having a 5’o-clock shadow and being bald, the similarities end there. He also says his real-life wife is nothing like Marge Simpson, because unlike the cartoon mom, Deb doesn’t suppress her emotions and she isn’t a homemaker. But Castellaneta says he doesn’t get tired of people asking him to do Homer’s voice, mostly because not many fans recognize him anyway. I am Not Homer hits stores April 23.
