Tupac’s Hip Hop Mentor Talks About New Tupac Documentary

BERKELEY, Calif. (Wireless Flash) – A new DVD documentary titled Tupac Shakur, Thug Angel: The Life of An Outlaw, comes out tomorrow (Apr. 2) but one of the rapper’s close friends says Shakur was not the outlaw that the media has made him out to be. Big Brotha Soul, who did “The Humpty Dance” with Shakur in the 1990s hip hop group Digital Underground, says ’Pac was a “sweet kid” who, unlike most rappers, has never done time in prison. He should know. Big Brotha Soul was Shakur’s mentor, coaching him on the value of patience and how to throw a good after-party. One person Big Brotha Soul says WASN’T around back then was the director of Thug Angel, Quincy D. Jones III, who Soul says isn’t really qualified to make a documentary about the rapper.
