Karaoke Singers Won’t Stay Silent About Cambodian Crackdown

CYPRESS, Calif. (Wireless Flash) – The Cambodian government is cracking down on karaoke bars by destroying them with tanks, but now America’s karaoke buffs are singing out against the tyranny. Peter Parker, who edits Karaoke Scene magazine, can’t understand why Cambodian officials are picking on karaoke – which he calls “the people’s music” because anyone can do it. He wants fellow fanatics to fight for their right to party by bombarding Cambodian officials with letters and phone calls demanding the persecution stop immediately. No word on how the Cambodian government will react to the karaoke campaign, but Parker hopes the current crisis makes Americans realize that karaoke and freedom go hand-in-hand.
