CHRISTMAS LIGHTS BATTLE POST-HOLIDAY DEPRESSION

CHRISTMAS LIGHTS BATTLE POST-HOLIDAY DEPRESSION

WILMINGTON, Del. (Wireless Flash) – Folks who leave their Christmas lights up until March aren’t lazy slobs – they’re just trying to battle post-holiday depression. That’s according to a Delaware-based psychologist who says many adults leave their Christmas lights up long after the holiday because they give them a warm, cozy feeling. Dr. Stephen Jackson says it’s easy to get depressed after the winter holidays because it gets dark so early – but keeping your Christmas lights blazing can keep you happy. That doesn’t mean that burning those bulbs is always a good alternative to Prozac, though. Jackson says it’s not healthy to depend on Christmas lights to the point where you get depressed the moment you switch the lamps off.
