LASERS ARE OUT, LAMPS ARE IN

LASERS ARE OUT, LAMPS ARE IN

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) – Tooth-whitening techniques are changing just as fast as fashion trends. New York-based cosmetic dentist Dr. Jeff Golub-Evans says the currently- popular laser tooth-whitening technique will soon be replaced with a new method which uses high-intensity lamps. Golub-Evans compares the procedure to sunning in a tanning bed and says one 20 minute treatment can lighten teeth six to 10 shades. Current laser methods require up to three treatments for the same results. While the laser treatment isn’t completely outdated, Dr. Golub-Evans predicts the lamp method will catch on because it’s efficient, easy, and the lamps don’t get hot which is good news for sensitive teeth.
