FAT PEOPLE NEEDED TO HELP SNIFF OUT OBESITY CURE

CHICAGO (Wireless Flash) – A Chicago-based smell expert hopes to sniff out a treatment for obesity with the help of several thousand fat people willing to donate their noses to science. Dr. Alan Hirsch says certain scents seem to make people think food is more filling than it really is and, therefore, eat less. Future fatties may be able to lose weight just by changing the scent of their food – but to test his theory he needs overweight volunteers who will be given flavored powders to apply to their meals. The powders include horseradish, garlic, anise and raspberry, and must be used on every meal. Hirsch hopes to sniff out the scents that promote the greatest amount of weight loss and, eventually, dieters may choose those flavors over salt and sugar. If you’re overweight and would like to participate in the test, you can apply at www.smellandtaste.org
