VIRGINIA MAN ASKS ASTRONOMERS TO FIND PLANET X

GALAX, Virginia (Wireless Flash) – Astronomers are supposed to be looking at the stars but an amateur astronomer in Virginia says they have their heads in the sand. Tim Edwards claims ancient civilizations alluded to a mysterious planet called Nibiru – whose orbit could intersect with Earth by next century – but he says astronomers refuse to address the topic, mainly because Nibiru is supposedly inhabited. Edwards hopes to change the scientists’ minds with a new e-mail campaign and is asking folks to e-mail astronomers requesting they search for Nibiru “so we can prepare for its arrival.” However, Hubble telescope astronomer Keith Noll says there’s “no scientific merit” to Nibiru and says a massive e-mail campaign will probably annoy scientists and not help the cause. Edwards isn’t swayed. He says that if observatories are publicly funded, the public “should have a say in what they’re looking for.”
