TOM CRUISE NOT HEATING UP INTEREST IN CRYONICS

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (Wireless Flash) – Tom Cruise’s new film, Vanilla Sky, features cryonics, the science of freezing someone in liquid nitrogen so they can be resuscitated in the future. However, the film’s box-office success isn’t helping real-life freezing firms, according to Andy Zawacki, who manages the Cryonics Institute in Clinton Township, Michigan. He says even though cryonics is available now, most people think cryonics is Sci-Fi and Vanilla Sky won’t change perceptions. Zawacki currently watches over 40 stiffs, who paid cold hard cash to stay frozen until scientists figure out how to thaw them out – an estimated 50 to 200 years from now. It isn’t cheap: It costs about $28,000, plus a rental fee to cover the years spent in the deep freeze. Although Vanilla Sky hasn’t made cryonics hot, Zawacki suggests that if Cruise still wants to help the cause, he should “mention our company in his next film.”
