BODY ROCK: MAKE YOUR CHEST A MUSICAL INSTRUMENT

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) – A West Camaroon-born musician is teaching people how to use their bodies as musical instruments. Gino Sitson holds workshops where he shows folks how to make melodies while thumping their chests, tapping their facial cheeks and rubbing their hands together. The end result sounds something like Bobby McFerrin. Sitson says one of the most effective techniques is beating on your chest and yelling a la Tarzan, which produces a variety of sounds that can “...add so much to a song.” He says you can use his techniques even if you have no idea how to play a musical instrument and children and senior citizens are his most enthusiastic students.
