SAN FRANCISCO (Wireless Flash) – The names Jacob and Emily have reclaimed their honor as the Top Baby Names in 2001. That’s according to the folks at BabyCenter.com, who have compiled their annual list of the top 100 baby names for boys and girls. Both “Jacob” and “Emily” were top of the heap in 1999, but were knocked out in 2000 by “Michael” and “Hannah.” Kids named Leah and Corey will have something to cry about this year – their names came in dead last on the popularity list. And don’t expect the September 11 attacks to have much influence on next year’s names. BabyCenter.com reports only a few parents plan to name their young’uns Liberty, America or Americus and those who do will most likely use patriotic monikers as middle names.
