NEVER USE KEYS TO FIGHT OFF AN ATTACKER

BOSTON (Wireless Flash) – For years, self-defense experts have recommended folks use car keys as weapons to fight off muggers. Now comes word that it’s actually the worst thing you could do in the case of an attack. Boston-based personal security expert Robert Siciliano says if you use your car keys as weapons, you might lose them or bend them – which means you can’t escape in your car. Siciliano also says using keys as makeshift brass knuckles can mangle your hands and says the best defense against a mugger is a swift chop to the throat with your bare hand. But if you feel more comfortable using a weapon, Siciliano recommends ballpoint pens, which are great for poking out a robber’s eyes or stabbing him in the arm, leg or throat.
