ACTOR STEPS INTO MC HAMMER PANTS FOR ROLE

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) – Actor Romany Malco found out the hard way that no one has bigger pants to fill than MC Hammer. Malco, who plays Hammer in VH1’s biopic, Too Legit: The MC Hammer Story, says by wearing the hip hopper’s genie pants he learned what it must’ve been like for Hammer “back in the day.” Malco says when the Oaktown rapper started sporting the pants, no one had done it before and it was a big chore to get pants that would work well for Hammer’s uber-aerobic dancing. While filming Too Legit, he says wardrobe designers had to fit him with a different cut of triple-size trousers for each dance scene to accomodate the various dance moves. Malco also gives “big props” to the rapper, saying Hammer’s dance style – including moves like the frantic, crab-walking “Typewriter” – was so tough to learn that if he had to do all over again, he wouldn’t.
