MGM-MIRAGE CASINO UNAFRAID OF OCEAN’S 11 COPYCATS

LAS VEGAS (Wireless Flash) – The casino robbing film Ocean’s 11 hits theaters today (Dec. 7), but Las Vegas casinos say they’re not afraid of copycat criminals. In the film, George Clooney plays an ex-con who cooks up a plan to rob the vault that holds the money for the MGM Grand, Mirage and Bellagio casinos. However, Shelly Mansholt, a spokeswoman for MGM Grand-Mirage casinos says there are no plans to beef up security and they don’t fear any Clooney- copycats will try and break into their vault. Mansholt says the movie won’t give folks pointers for pulling a heist either because Warner Brothers studios never had access to their vault. “They had to recreate it on their soundstage,” she says. In fact Mansholt claims, the real vault is a lot less glamorous than the movie version.
