NEW ZEALAND ‘RINGS’ FAN MAD OVER MOVIE MONOPOLY

NEW PLYMOUTH, New Zealand (Wireless Flash) – New Zealand will be the first country in the world to hold public screenings of the Lord Of The Rings movie, but one town has been filibustered out of that honor. That’s because in New Plymouth, radio station Energy FM has bought all tickets to the town’s December 20, 12:01 a.m. showing. That ticks off Tolkien fan Sinclair Lonsdale, who was hoping to be one of the first people in the world to see Rings. He thinks the radio station is unfairly keeping New Plymouth from sharing that first viewing with their fellow Kiwis. However, Lonsdale’s pleas are having little effect on Energy FM program director Rob Stewart, who says so many people want to see the film that a few are bound to be left out of the theater.
