ELTON’S ‘NO MORE ALBUMS’ PLEDGE WON’T AFFECT IMPERSONATORS

SHEFFIELD, England (Wireless Flash) – England’s top Elton John impersonator is still standing following the singer’s announcement that his current album will be his last. Dieter Graham, who doubles for Elton in a tribute show titled “Made In England,” says the announcement is sad but probably won’t have much effect on his act. The 44-year-old Englishman says Elton’s old hits tend to be the most popular with fans and the most recent John songs in his show are from the 1994 Lion King soundtrack. In his words, “People don’t remember Elton John for what he hasn’t done; they remember him for what he’s already done.” Graham also jokes that the singer’s retirement may mean more people will come to see his act and says he often gets called in to sub for John at events the singer can’t attend.
