CRANE’S SON APPROVES OF ‘CROWE-GAN’S HEROES’

SEATTLE (Wireless Flash) – Russell Crowe’s plans to take Hogan’s Heroes to the big screen has at least one fan happy: The son of show's star Bob Crane. Scotty Crane thinks Crowe would make a great Colonel Robert Hogan but also thinks Alec Baldwin should be considered and maybe John Goodman as either Sgt. Schultz or Col. Klink. But Hogan’s Heroes isn’t the only Bob Crane-related film in the works. Greg Kinnear is considering playing Crane in Auto- Focus, a movie about the actor’s 1978 murder. Scotty isn’t pleased and claims the script is so “poorly written” he’s surprised it wasn’t offered to Jim Belushi first. However, he may be biased because he’s trying to sell his own Crane bio-pic, Take Off Your Clothes And Smile, which he co-wrote with his mother, Hogan’s Heroes cast member Sigrid Valdis.
