WORKING STIFFS: PHONY CORPSES STEAL THE SHOW ON ‘CROSSING JORDAN’
LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash) – Talk about working stiffs: Actor Steve Valentine spends his days acting opposite extras dressed as dead bodies on the medical crime drama Crossing Jordan. It can get pretty creepy at times, admits Valentine, who says the corpses’ make-up is much gorier in real life than what’s shown on TV. He says he once sat down for lunch, only to have his appetite ruined by seeing an actor covered in blood with two fake ribs sticking out sitting nearby casually slurping spaghetti. “I freaked out,” Valentine admits. Another time, the cast was gathered around a “body” for a scene when one of the actors forgot a line. The bloodied corpse immediately cued the line from his medical gurney.
