WITCH HIGH PRIEST: ‘J.K. ROWLING IS EXPLOITING MY RELIGION’

HASTINGS, England (Wireless Flash) – Witches are bubbling mad over the glut of Harry Potter merchandise flooding toy stores. Kevin Carlyon, who is the head of all British white witches, claims author J.K. Rowling is “exploiting” his belief system by giving her OK to dozens of commercial items based on the boy wizard. He says the motto of his religion is “For Need, Not Greed,” and feels using the appeal of magic to sell expensive toy broomsticks and “tooth-rotting” candy is against all the rules of his craft. Carlyon has placed a spell on Rowling to help her see the error of her ways and hopes it convinces her to donate profits from the Potter merchandise to a charitable cause. He says if the wealthy author doesn’t change her ways soon, her financial empire “...will come crumbling down.”
