FREDDIE MERCURY’S TEETH: THE UNTOLD STORY

FREDDIE MERCURY’S TEETH: THE UNTOLD STORY

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) – This Saturday (Nov. 24) will be the 10th anniversary of the day Queen singer Freddie Mercury died. One person who remembers Freddie well is glam rock photographer Mick Rock, who snapped the band’s famous “Bohemian Rhapsody” shot during the Queen II album session. Rock says Mercury’s main concern when having his picture taken was covering up his teeth, which protruded quite a bit. He says, one day, the singer showed him the cause of his buck-toothed smile – four extra teeth which pushed his choppers forward. But when Rock suggested Mercury have the offending teeth removed, the singer said he kept the teeth because they extend his range as a singer and he was frightened a tooth removal would affect his voice. Rock shares other stories about shooting the glam rock scene in the new book, Blood and Glitter (Vision On Publishing).
