VIGILANTE RABBI NEXT ACTION STAR?

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash) – Watch out Rambo! The next action hero could be a vigilante rabbi. That’s the hope of actor Michael Des Barres, who recently starred as a Hebrew version of Charles Bronson in an as-yet untitled action film. The former Melrose Place cast member isn’t Jewish, but thoroughly studied the religion so he would look authentic during scenes when his character isn’t gunning down criminals. Des Barres doesn’t know when the vigilante rabbi flick will be released but he’ll soon be seen on TV playing a one-hit wonder on the WB sitcom, Young Person’s Guide To Being A Rock Star, which debuts in January. The role as a musician won’t be as much of an acting stretch for Des Barres as playing a rabbi. Not only did he write Animotion’s 1985 one-hit wonder, “Obsession,” but he also replaced Robert Palmer in Power Station.
