DOT-COM DOLDRUMS CREATE STIFF SANTA COMPETITION

BOULDER, Colo. (Wireless Flash) – Looks like many out-of-work dot-commers will be wearing Santa Claus suits this Christmas. That’s according to professional Santa instructor Suzen Mesco, who says this year’s Claus class includes lots of computer geeks who lost their jobs during the dot-com doldrums. In past years, she had a hard time finding enough Santas but now it’s a buyer’s market and only the cream of the Claus need apply. That doesn’t necessarily mean fat guys with white beards. Mesco says the best shopping mall Santas don’t always look like him and she just expelled 11 Santa lookalikes for acting like prima donnas. Although Mesco says lots of Santas are competing for a few jobs now, she admits things may change after December 1 – which is when many shopping mall Santas come down with the flu from sneezing, coughing kids.
