‘DOBIE GILLIS’ HOLDING CELEB ART EXHIBIT

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash) – Maynard G. Krebs might have been the artsy beatnik on Dobie Gillis – but it’s Dobie who dabbles in art in real life. Actor Dwayne Hickman, who played Dobie, has been painting oil landscapes for years and now Hickman has organized some of his fellow actor artists for a display of celebrity art which opens tonight (Nov. 15) in Hollywood. The works on display will include a chalk still life of several women created by Columbo star Peter Falk, animal photographs shot by Birds babe Tippi Hedren and a cartoonish caricature in ink by Dom Deluise. The exhibit will be open to the public until Sunday and proceeds will go to actors in New York who lost work because of the September 11 terrorist tragedy.
