IRISH BALLAD CELEBRATES FIREFIGHTER’S SALTY REMARK

SAN MARCOS, Calif. (Wireless Flash) – A New York City fireman’s request that Osama bin Laden kiss his “royal Irish ass” has inspired a new drinking ditty. A San Diego-based group known as The Chamber-Made Brigade has released “The Ballad of Mike Moran” which is inspired by NYC firefighter Mike Moran’s comment during Paul McCartney’s fund-raiser last month. Some of their song’s lyrics include: In remembrance of my brothers/ Who from earthly bonds did pass/ Osama, step right up and kiss my royal Irish ass. Songwriters Christopher Storc and Doug Cogan say they personally tested the lyrics in San Diego Irish pubs and feel the tune strikes a chord with blue collar types more so than any other September 11 songs.
