CATCHING UP WITH KIRK CAMERON
CATCHING UP WITH KIRK CAMERON
STUDIO CITY, Calif. (Wireless Flash) Former teen idol Kirk Cameron is ready to tackle more than laughs with his latest acting role. The wisecracking star of Growing Pains is taking a dramatic turn in an upcoming TV movie, The Miracle of the Cards, which is based on the true story of a young boy who is miraculously cured of a brain tumor. The 31-year-old Cameron plays a skeptical reporter investigating the unusual case and says it was really easy for him to get into the mindset of a skeptical atheist, despite his own devout religious beliefs. He says he can identify with atheists because that was his own mindset for the 20 years before he became a Christian. As for his own beliefs about the story, Cameron says he truly believes the boys recovery was a miracle and I have no problem believing God would heal a boy like [this]. The Miracle of the Cards airs Saturday (Nov. 10) on PAX-TV.
