CATCHING UP WITH KIRK CAMERON

STUDIO CITY, Calif. (Wireless Flash) – Former teen idol Kirk Cameron is ready to tackle more than laughs with his latest acting role. The wisecracking star of Growing Pains is taking a dramatic turn in an upcoming TV movie, The Miracle of the Cards, which is based on the true story of a young boy who is miraculously cured of a brain tumor. The 31-year-old Cameron plays a skeptical reporter investigating the unusual case and says it was really easy for him to get into the mindset of a skeptical atheist, despite his own devout religious beliefs. He says he can identify with atheists because that was his own mindset for the 20 years before he became a Christian. As for his own beliefs about the story, Cameron says he truly believes the boy’s recovery was a miracle and “I have no problem believing God would heal a boy like [this].” The Miracle of the Cards airs Saturday (Nov. 10) on PAX-TV.
