EX-‘SOPRANOS’ STAR GUNNING FOR NON-VIOLENT ROLES

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash) – Character actor Vincent Pastore saw plenty of bloodshed as mob man-turned-government snitch “Pussy Bonpensiero” on The Sopranos – but he’s leaving that all behind now. The New York native says ever since last month’s terrorist attacks, he’s been avoiding violent roles because he thinks entertainers need to concentrate on making people happy. To that end, Pastore is hoping to get his own sitcom where the gag is he’s “...a guy who’s not a wiseguy but people think he is.” That’s a problem that plagues Pastore in real life as well. He recently filmed a cameo appearance on Emeril Lagasse’ sitcom and says “I think I got him a little nervous, so I said to him: “I’m not a wiseguy, don’t get scared.”’ Pastore’s “Sopranos Come to Dinner” episode of Emeril airs next Tuesday (Oct. 23).
