IVORY TO CREATE GIANT UNCLE SAM OUT OF SOAP

WASHINGTON (Wireless Flash) – American patriotism will be bubbling up in Washington D.C. next Wednesday (Oct. 24). That’s when a soap sculptor will be carving a gigantic Uncle Sam statue out of a 6-foot-high by 4-foot-wide block of Ivory soap. The huge soap block was specially created at the Ivory plant in Cincinnati using a crate-sized mold and the equivalent of 44,000 bars of soap. The end result is a block that weighs more than 12,000 pounds but is still 99 and 44/100ths pure. The soap-sculpting is being done to celebrate Ivory’s donation of thousands of old print ads to the Smithsonian.
