AMERICANS PACK ON THE POUNDS AFTER ATTACKS

DUBLIN, Ohio (Wireless Flash) – While America battles with Afghanistan, its citizens are fighting the battle of the bulge. According to Ohio-based registered dietician and culinary nutritionist Marlene Koch, Americans have been packing on the pounds since September 11. She says Americans are turning to food as a comfort source and their new motto is, “life is just too short to diet.” Koch says turning to food in times of crisis isn’t necessarily a bad thing and believes this isn’t the time to tell people to get back to “diet food.” Instead, she recommends that people find a balance between taking care of themselves and enjoying life – things like exercising while still enjoying the foods they love only not so much of it. Koch is the author of the new book Unbelievable Desserts with Splenda (M.Evans).
