SHANIA TWAIN SINGS “HALF BREED”

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Wireless Flash) – If Christina Aguilera can record “Lady Marmalade,” then Shania Twain can sing “Half Breed.” A recording of Shania singing the 1973 Cher classic will soon be hitting stores as part of The Limelight Sessions, a collection of tunes the singer recorded in 1988 using the name “Eilleen Twain.” Insiders who’ve heard the CD say it sounds more like 1980s pop than country – right down to the era’s trademark synthesized drum machine sounds. However, some tunes such as “The Heart Is Blind” have been re- recorded with new backing tracks to make them more contemporary sounding. The CD will be released October 23.
