NARCOLEPTICS TIRED OF BEING THE BUTT OF JOKES

CINCINNATI, Ohio (Wireless Flash) – A group of “sleeping sickness” sufferers says it’s tired of being the butt of jokes – and it’s not taking it lying down anymore. The group – called the Narcolepsy Network – says the Bruce Willis comedy, Bandits, and the recent film, Rat Race, both used narcolepsy as a subject for jokes. Spokesman Robert Kraut says he doesn’t think the illness is a laughing matter and his group is tired of stars like Willis and Billy Bob Thornton making fun of a serious disability. Although Kraut isn’t asking narcoleptics to boycott the films, he says if the filmmakers ever make sequels, he hopes a character with narcolepsy will be diagnosed and treated instead of treated like a joke.
