SPA PROGRAM FOR PLUS-SIZE LADIES

SONOMA, Calif. (Wireless Flash) – Many larger ladies are too self- conscious to bare their bods at health spas – but one woman hopes to change that. Deborah Powell, who runs a company that helps plus-size women feel proud about their plump posteriors, is starting a spa program tailored to the needs of big-boned gals. The so-called “Size With Style Spa Plus Holidays” are open to ladies size 14 or larger and the first trip will be to a California spa next summer. Powell says the five-day retreat will start at $2,500 and will feature special touches like larger-sized robes, armless chairs in the dining room and water aerobics classes. She says many large ladies deny themselves the luxury of visiting a spa because they don’t want their bodies judged by skinnier women – but she hopes the new program will help them get over that fear.
