ICELANDIC FISH LEATHER WASHING UP ON U.S. SHORES

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Wireless Flash) – It sounds fishy but fashionistas may soon be wearing frocks made of lox. Icelandic scientists say they’ve discovered a way to turn salmon skin into a soft, supple material called “Ocean Leather.” The leather-like product doesn’t smell fishy and a spokesman claims most folks think it’s real leather. So far, the fishy fabric is too labor-intensive for mass production so Ocean Leather will be mostly used by high-end designers such as Armani and Prada. The salmon-skin haute couture fabric will make its U.S. debut Friday (Oct. 12) at a fashion show in Washington, D.C.
