LOST DENTURES TURNING UP IN SENIORS’ STOMACHS

CHICAGO (Wireless Flash) – Old-timers who’ve misplaced their dentures may want to check their stomachs. That’s the word from the Academy of General Dentistry, which reports it’s not uncommon for folks to accidentally swallow dental appliances like dentures. A spokesman says some seniors occasionally swallow their dentures during sleep, which is why its important to take out any removable teeth before going to bed. He also says dentures can be swallowed when the wearer is drunk or if they don’t fit properly.
