COFFEE, ANTI-OIL DRILLING ACTIVISM HOT WITH COLLEGE KIDS

WASHINGTON (Wireless Flash) – Protesting mink fur and baby seal battering is out – coffee farmers and oil drilling are the hot button issues with American college students this year. According to Environmental Media Services, college student activists will be perking up this school year to demand that college dining halls offer coffee that comes from Latin American farmers who follow fair trade policies. Another hot back-to-school protest is campaigning against President Bush’s plans to drill for oil in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, which needs to be done before next week’s deadline for public input. And later this month, thousands of protest-happy college students are expected to descend on Washington, D.C., during the meeting of the World Bank/International Monetary Fund.
