EX-TROGGS MEMBER CREATES FAKE JOHN LENNON CD
TORONTO, Can. (Wireless Flash) A former member of the 1960s rock group The Troggs is attempting a truly Wild Thing: Making a John Lennon CD without John Lennon. Tom Heyfron has co-written 10 new songs that are meant to sound like Lennon during various stages of his musical career. The make-believe Lennon songs will appear on a new CD, Beaten Path: Songs For John, and while some ditties sound like never-before-recorded Beatles tunes, others sound like nursery rhymes Lennon might have sung to his son, Sean. Heyfrons partner, David Goyette, says Lennons music was too eclectic for a 10-song CD, so a few artistic decisions had to be made including not using any type of bizarre shrieking a la Yoko Ono.
