COLLEGE STUDENT TO SPEAK FOR FIRST TIME IN 369 DAYS

HADDONFIELD, N.J. (Wireless Flash) – A New Jersey college student who’s hasn’t spoken a word for more than a year will utter his first words tomorrow (Sept. 5). 19-year-old Brett Banfe of Haddonfield, New Jersey, entered into a self- imposed vow of silence on August 31 of last year and, since then, has communicated solely using e-mail, facial expressions and – when he needs to curse – sign language. Tomorrow, Brett will speak for the first time in one year at a press conference at Planet Hollywood in New York City. He says keeping his yap shut hasn’t been easy and claims one girlfriend broke up with him because – in his words – It’s hard to type to someone about how you feel.
