LABOR PAINS: AMERICANS WORKING MORE THAN EVER

WASHINGTON (Wireless Flash) – A new study shows American citizens work the longest hours of any other industrialized nation. Research by the International Labor Organization shows the average American works 100 hours more per year than workers in Japan, Australia or Canada. Overall, the average American is working 1,978 hours a year – 36 hours more than the average person worked in 1990. The only countries whose citizens work more than Americans are the Czech Republic and South Korea, which are both considered “developing nations.”
