WHY CAN’T I WEAR WHITE SHOES AFTER LABOR DAY?

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash) – Today (Sep. 3) is celebrated as Labor Day in America – and fashionistas claim it’s also the last day of the year that white shoes are permissible until spring. Ever wonder why? L.A.-based wardrobe consultant Michelle Gampel says the tradition started because most people start losing their tans by Labor Day and pale, pasty skin looks really bad next to white shoes. Although the white shoe rule isn’t enforced as much as it once was, Gampel doesn’t think it should be given the boot entirely because, in her words, “It also ensures that ugly red and green clothing is only worn around Christmas.”
