BRAZILIAN BEE HIVE MATERIAL PREVENTING CAVITIES?

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Wireless Flash) – Look Ma! No cavities. Researchers say a sticky glue-like substance found in Brazilian honeybee hives may prevent cavities. Dentists at the University of Rochester Medical Center in New York have discovered that “propolis” – a material used by honeybees to build hives – may prevent tooth decay. Japanese and European toothpaste manufacturers already use the spicy cinnamon-like material, but researchers say the most effective stuff comes from southern Brazil. There’s no word on when propolis will be added to American toothpastes, but chemists are trying to synthesize the Brazilian compound.
