UGLY 1970S-ERA CARS HOT NEW COLLECTIBLES

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (Wireless Flash) – Here’s one automobile trend that should be recalled immediately: Restoring cheesy 1970s-era cars. According to classic auto expert McKeel Hagerty, many collectors are buying up and restoring AMC Gremlins, Ford Pintos and Chevy Novas to their former grade B greatness. AMC Pacers which were considered worthless five years ago are now selling for as much as $7000 for models with denim upholstery. The 1973 Ford Pinto – which was recalled because of exploding gas tanks – is also becoming popular and so are Yugos from the mid-80s. Hagerty admits most of these automobiles “weren’t great cars” to begin with and he compares the trend with “slowing down to look at roadkill.”
