MOTHER-DAUGHTER LIFEGUARDS GET ALONG SWIMMINGLY

MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif. (Wireless Flash) – Not all stepmothers get along with their stepkids but a southern California woman gets along “swimmingly” with hers. Both 37-year-old Diane Gallas and her 19-year-old stepdaughter, Paige, are on the U.S. Surf Lifesaving team. Paige says her step-mom inspired her to take up the sport two years ago and, so far, she’s doing pretty good at following in her mom’s bikini. Both Gallas gals are competing in the Goodwill Games, which begin next Wednesday (August 29), in Brisbane, Australia. Diane says she hopes Surf Lifesaving will catch a wave of popularity with couch potatoes because the competitions “have a lot of characters and Baywatch lookalikes.”
