SHARK ATTACK VICTIMS TO GET SAND CASTLE MONUMENT

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (Wireless Flash) – The recent surge of shark maulings has inspired a New Jersey artist to create a monument of sand to honor the victims and lifeguards. Fire captain and professional sand sculptor John Gowdy will compete in the World Championship Sand Sculpture next month in Canada with a sculpture of a lifeguard rescuing a child being attacked by a shark. Gowdy is no stranger to rescue-style sculptures – last month he sculpted a fireman rescuing a baby for an Italian sand sculpture competition.
