RUSSIAN TEENS ‘NYET’ SO DIFFERENT FROM AMERICAN KIDS

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) – Forget the Iron Curtain: Russian teens are “nyet” so different from American kids. That’s the word from 14-year-old trend spotter Theresa Giannetti, who recently traveled to Russia to investigate teen culture. She says she was surprised to find Russian kids wear the same styles of jeans, listen to the same music and even use the same kinds of slang as American teens. Giannetti – who works for Teen People – says the only difference she saw was Russian teens don’t hang out at the mall, mostly because everything there is too expensive. Giannetti’s Russian adventure will be broadcast tonight on the Noggin network show A Walk In Your Shoes.
