WHAT IS CAUSING THE ‘KOKOMO HUM’?

KOKOMO, Indiana (Wireless Flash) – The citizens of Kokomo, Indiana, are buzzing over a mysterious sound that has plagued the city for two years. The low-droning “Kokomo Hum” – which sounds like a very loud refrigerator – began suddenly in July of 1999 and hasn’t stopped yet. At least 60 citizens are blaming the “Kokomo Hum” for causing everything from depression to diarrhea – and one resident, Diane Anton, claims the buzz is making her body jerk wildly at night. Despite numerous studies, no one has discovered the source of the bizarre hum – although some suspect it could be coming from a nearby steel factory. Others think the “Kokomo Hum” is being generated by a wastewater treatment plant or by Navy satellites secretly communicating with submarines.
